We Didn't Plant This Garden: How Modern Christians Feed on Ancient Christianity
Christian Faith rests upon Christ as he is revealed in the Scripture, yet Redeemer Church holds certain traditions as wholesome expressions of the Scripture's teaching: the importance of church membership, the doctrine of creation, the Trinity, the two natures of Christ and other crucial issues. While grounded in the truth of Scripture, such teachings developed to heal particular traumas in the church. In order to understand and to appreciate the practical importance of these doctrines, it is very helpful to know about the historical events behind them. This class, taught by Ben Inman and Mike Newkirk, will survey the development of the Christian theological tradition from the 2nd Century to the time of the late Middle Ages.
