Women In the Church
The role of the Women In the Church (WIC) council at Redeemer is to encourage women in their own spiritual development and provide a vehicle to train women and implement ministries. Under the guidance and direction of the Session, the WIC council coordinates ministries and events specifically for women and also partners with other committees to build and strengthen the body of Christ, His church.
The WIC Council at Redeemer is comprised of six positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Director of Bible Studies, Director of In-Reach and Director of Fellowship. The council meets regularly to plan and evaluate women's ministries in several areas.
- Bible Studies: Weekly Bible study opportunities are provided on Wednesday mornings and Monday evenings. Childcare is provided during the Wednesday morning time.
- In-Reach: As needs arise within the church body, the WIC Council looks for ways to meet those needs both spiritually, through prayer and encouragement, and physically, by providing meals, companionship, child care, transportation, household help, etc.
- Fellowship: It is our desire that all women in the church would form friendships and even more importantly, develop spiritual relationships that would challenge and encourage them as disciples of Christ. A variety of events are planned throughout the year to provide women with opportunities to fellowship and serve along side each other.
"The purpose of the Women In the Church is that every woman know Christ personally and be committed to extending His kingdom in her life, home, church, community, and throughout the world."
"The foundation of this purpose statement is a covenantal understanding of the church. God has entered into a grace-relationship with us and bound Himself to us in covenant faithfulness. Our relationship with Him is personal, but it is not individual. The covenant is corporate. Our relationship with God puts us into the covenant community. We have covenant privileges and responsibilities in the community. We are to live with one another in a way that reflects our covenant relationship with God."
